Fireworks are banned in Leavenworth

Lighting off fireworks in Chelan County, within the City of Leavenworth, and on Federal Lands is strictly illegal.

Each year more than 12,000 fireworks-related injuries, half of them children, are treated in hospital emergency rooms? Approximately 26% of the children injured are innocent bystanders.

Fireworks started an estimated 19,500 fires in 2018 including 1,900 structure fires, 500 vehicle fires and 17,100 outside fires and caused $105 million in direct property damage.

Possession and use of any firework, including Safe & Sane, is illegal in Chelan County and the City of Leavenworth. It is a crime that is punishable by a fire or incarceration in County jail or both.

Chelan County Fire District #3 strongly urges residents and visitors to keep our beautiful area safe from fires caused by fireworks. If you wish to dispose of fireworks, please contact the Fire Department at 509-548-7711.
